The mallet has the power to literally "raise the earth". When the mallet is struck on the floor, pillars of rock erupt from the ground. When in areas rich with resources, minerals like coal or gold are raised along with the rock. The downside to the mallet, however, is that when it is used it causes seismic instability, creating severe earthquakes and sinkholes.

HistoryEdit

The mallet was used in the construction of the Great Wall of China, an enormous project commissioned by Qin Shi Huang, the first sovereign emperor of Unified China. Imbued with the strength and effort required to "raise the earth" and build the defensive border to protect China from invaders, the mallet was given Artifact properties.

The mallet is part of Warehouse 12's lost cache, which was being transported from the U.S. to England when the ship it was in, The Halcyon, was sunk.

Viola Adair, a direct descedent of the men who sank the boat, hired dive teams to retrieve the cargo. She later sold the mallet onto Renaldo Brisco in Rio de Janeiro, so she could attract the Warehouse's attention. Renaldo used the mallet to save his father's company, which was going bankrupt in the care of his uncle Vincente. He raised gold and other valuable minerals, but caused sinkholes to appear near wherever he struck: in China, South Africa, Indonesia and areas of Rio de Janeiro, like the Rocinha Favela. Pete and Myka retrieved the artifact from Renaldo during Carnival, where the artifact's downside killed Renaldo and almost killed Pete and Myka. They managed to neutralize the mallet in time and they placed it in the Warehouse.
