Reverend John Hill is a man of such powerful faith that he dies happy, even though his death is not immediate, and potentially preventable. He knows where he's going next, and doesn't want anything disrupting that journey.
When we first meet him in Regrets, he is the one loudly righteous man in a "den of thieves". Which is not to say that he himself has not been a thief, but he has unquestionably, unswervingly, seen the light. Pete and Myka are investigating a series of recent suicides at the prison, and the warden indicates that the Reverend is one of the shot-callers, one of the people you have to rub along with, if you're going to run this type of institution.
