The bronze baby shoes is an artifact that allows the user to relive memories.

It is recommended that the user brings someone into their memories with them. This is because, on certain previous occasions, users have refused to leave their memories and they got lost within them. In this case, their guest can pull them back. Another downside of this artifact is that the shoes only take the user as far as their memories can, i.e. when Claudia and Artie were using the shoes Claudia wanted to hear what her parents and Claire were saying, but she couldn't as Artie didn't hear what they said when the event happened.

In ShadowsJane Lattimer used this artifact to go back and find the meaning of "A-Z Technologies," and she brought her son, Pete Lattimer, along.

In the episode Secret Services, this artifact was used twice. First by Artie and Claudia to view Artie's memories on the case involving Claire Donovan and Frances Farmer's Music Box. Second by Steve, Claudia and Claire to view exactly what happened with the music box and Claire.

Real World ConnectionEdit

Horace Westlake Frink was an American psychologist and psychoanalyst who became one of the founding members of the New York Psychoanalytic Society. He frequently surrendered himself to the psychoanalysis of Sigmund Freud to better understand himself. In 1936, he suffered a psychotic break himself and was committed to Pine Bluff Sanitarium in N. Carolina, where he soon died.

The shoes babies or toddlers wear when they first learn to walk are sometimes bronzed and placed on a stand so the child's parents can look back on their memories of when their child was young.
