Agents[]

Agents are employees of the Warehouse tasked with collecting artifacts and protecting both the Warehouse and the world at large. Agents are recruited for particular traits deemed useful to the Warehouse and its work, be they talents, skills, or preternatural abilities. Only legal citizens of the Warehouse's current home country can be recruited as Agents, and are presumably automatically retired should it ever move to a new host country.[11]

All Agents are approached personally by the current Caretaker of the current Warehouse and offered transport and directions to its location[12][13] (with the exception of Claudia Donovan).[14] Some Agents must go through a period of apprenticeship before they are officially recognized as such, as was the case for H.G. Wells[15][16] and Claudia Donovan.[17] Sometime soon after recruitment, all Warehouse employees must make a signature statement on film, where a record is created of the employee agreeing to work for the Warehouse whilst understanding the inherent risks it presents.[18]

Unknown[]

The following agents of Warehouse 13 are known to have existed, but their names are unknown:

  • A curious agent wandered into the Escher Vault without the necessary goggles and was never seen again. This happened between 1989 and 1994.[87]
  • A white male agent who was present in 1981 eventually died.[12]
  • A black male agent who was present in 1981 eventually died.[12]
  • A white male agent who was present in 1981 was eventually committed to a mental institution in Germany.[12]
  • A white male agent who was present in 1981 eventually disappeared.[12]

The following personnel work for the Warehouse in some way other than the ways listed above:

  • Abigail Chow - Owner of the Univille Bed and Breakfast for Warehouse use in 2012; Warehouse Keeper.
  • Leena – Owner of the Univille Bed and Breakfast for Warehouse use by 2009 until 2012; Warehouse consultant (aura-reading, artifact shelving).

Warehouse 13 Contributors[]

  • Albert Einstein: Designed the Warehouse's Expansion Joints.[88]
  • Douglass Fargo: Upgraded Warehouse 13's computer system. Brought Maintenance and Repair Automatons (M.A.R.A.s) in the hopes the Warehouse could use them, but they were rejected by Artie.[89]
  • M. C. Escher: Co-constructor of Warehouse 13 ("The Artist"); Designed original Warehouse's ability to fold in on itself), constructed or inspired the Escher Vault.[90][91]
  • Nikola Tesla: Co-constructor of Warehouse 13 ("The Mad Scientist") ;[90][91] Co-designed and supplied modern Tesla firearms with Helena Wells.[12][15]
  • Philo Farnsworth: Designed and supplied Farnsworth devices.[12]
  • Thomas Edison: Co-constructor of Warehouse 13 ("The Businessman").[90][91]

Allies and Secret-Keepers[]

The One[]

Warehouse personnel (at least Regents and agents) are allowed a "One", one person they choose whom they trust with the secrets of their career and the Warehouse's existence.[92] This is meant to help ground them and give them balance so that they do not become consumed and overwhelmed by the intensity of their work.

Originally, only Regents were permitted a One. It was not until (presumably between 2009 and 20010) highly successful agent Artie Nielsen argued that agents should be permitted the same therapeutic privilege and threatened to resign if they were not that the Regents extended the privilege to them.[11]

  • Daniel Lattimer: The One of Regent Jane Lattimer.[93]
  • Kelly Hernandez: The hopeful One of agent Pete Lattimer. She refused to be told the details of his life after she was affected by an artifact that nearly made her kill him, as she only wanted a peaceful, normal life, and did not wish to be wrapped up in something dangerous.[94] She returned in the future to get the Warehouse's help after her grandmother was affected by an artifact.[95]
  • Scott Mohr: The One of agent Artie Nielsen. Born not knowing who his birth father was, Scott and Artie eventually reconnected in the future, and he was occasionally asked to help with Warehouse cases, including snagging a time-bubble-creating artifact that had eluded Artie for several years. Outside of Warehouse assistance, they attend Comic-Con together.[11]

Other[]

These people know of the Warehouse to some extent, and some may be involved in helping the Warehouse.

  • Bennett Sutton
  • Brady Miller: Hopeful future agent of Warehouse 13; Nephew of former agent Hugo Miller.[96] It is unclear if he is Hugo's One.
  • Charlotte DuPres
  • Deb Stanley[97]
  • Liam Napier: Former lover of Steve Jinks, he deduced that Steve worked for a secret government organization that collected and contained artifacts.[98]
  • Monty Dilman[99]
  • Nick Powell

Trivia[]

  • Personnel not considered agents, and thus were not recruited by the Caretaker, or who are no longer agents, may not be considered subordinates to the Caretaker like supervisors and agents are; Vanessa Calder[92] and Abigail Cho[100], the Warehouse doctor and Keeper respectively, both referred to Mrs. Frederic by her given name, a privilege only Regents have otherwise been shown to have.
    • An exception is Leena, owner of the B&B, who always referred to Mrs. Frederic as "Mrs. Frederic", despite not being recruited by her.[11] This was likely simply out of respect rather than subordination.

  87. "MacPherson" establishes that James MacPherson was fired from Warehouse 13 in 1994 (15 years prior to the present), and is established to take place in September of 2009. 20 years prior to this is 1989. In "Time Will Tell", James says "20 years ago, a curious agent entered the Vault and hasn't been heard of since." This episode is intended to take place very soon after, if not the same day as, "MacPherson", but it and a later episode establish through props that it takes place in April of 2010. Twenty years prior to this is 1990.
