The Supersonic Cymbals are an artifact first featured in "Nevermore".

Effects[]

A pair of cymbals capable of producing supersonic sound waves, which were once held in Warehouse 13. The set of finger-sized clash cymbals creates a deadly sound wave when touched together. The user is apparently unaffected and anyone who covers their ears will not be killed, though it will still render the person unconscious.

History[]

C

James using the artifact in "Nevermore"

At some point in time, the cymbals came into the possession of James MacPherson, which the agents of Warehouse 13 at some point became aware of.[1]

Arthur Nielsen sent agent Myka Bering to MacPherson's apartment and Pete Lattimer to Montreal in the hopes of apprehending him, with the knowledge of his possession of the cymbals and their danger. Myka could not find the cymbals in the apartment, alerting them that MacPherson had them on his person. Artie attempted to warn Pete to cover his ears when he caught up to MacPherson, which he managed just in time to save himself from its effects when MacPherson used them, resulting in the deaths of two policemen.[1]

Years later, Artie would be affected by his use of Ferdinand Magellan's Astrolabe and develop an evil alternate personality that planned to unleash the English sweating sickness of the Chinese Orchid on the world. To this end, he pretended that the other agents attempting to stop him were evil and enlisted the help of the orchid's guardian family, the Steinbrucks (Johan and his two children Anya and Carl). The two groups converged at an old mill, and Artie used the cymbals to hinder the agents while he and the Steinbrucks were protected by ear plugs.[2]
